European Trail Orienteering Championships (ETOC) 2020 will be organised 14-18 July 2020 in Southern Finland.
ETOC 2020 moves to July! The IOF has approved our proposal! Please mark the dates in your calendar: 14–18 July.
As no one in the world yet knows how the situation will look like in July, we go on organising the events as planned, but in July. Should this change, we will inform about it at the latest towards the end of May. In that case, it is very likely that we ask to move ETOC 2020 to 2021.
Entries will shortly open in IOF Eventor again and we will publish the updated Bulletin 3 and update all the information on the website in due time.
New proposed dates for ETOC 2020
In order to be able to organise the ETOC 2020 this year, the organising committee has thoroughly gone through the calendar of TrailO and FootO events of the year, as well as consulted several experts and key officials. New proposed dates for ETOC 2020 are 14-18 July 2020.
NB. This is just a proposal, it has not yet been approved by the IOF. Should we not be able to organise in July 2020, it is likely that we will not be able to organise in 2020.
As soon as we have a decision from the IOF, we will let you know. An updated Bulletin 3 will be issued as soon as possible after that.
We have today unexpectedly been informed by the IOF that all IOF Events until 31 May have been cancelled.
We will start to consider possible alternative dates and we’ll of course keep everyone updated via the website and social media.
On behalf of the participants, the organisers will cancel all accommodation bookings from Kisakallio. You do not need to cancel your ETOC entries in IOF Eventor at the moment. In due time, we will inform you of new deadlines for entries, accommodation and more. We will contact individually the countries that have already paid entry fees.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we truly hope to see you later in Finland at #ETOC2020!
There will be public events on all competition days after the ETOC competition is over.
See you in Finland!
